5 Checklists to Get Your People Aligned for the New Year
Take the beginning of the year to set the tone about what matters to you and your team! If you take all five steps, you’ll even set aside time for check-in throughout the year so that you’re more likely to achieve your goals.

Individually and with your team, discuss whether your goals are still the same or if you need to make changes.

●Review your 3 – 7 year goals & choose priorities - SWOT: strengths, weaknesses, opportunities & threats
Conduct an honest assessment of YOURSELF and your team.
●Strengths & weaknesses: what qualities do we have that will help us achieve our goals and what about us could hinder our success?
●Opportunities & threats: are there external opportunities or conditions that you can take advantage of that will better position you and your team to achieve your goals? Likewise, are there external challenges or threats that you need to be aware, monitor, and minimize to increase your chances of achieving your goals? - Start, Stop, Change, Continue
Review your teams activities and routines through the lens of start, stop, change, and continue.
●What do we need to start? Stop? Change? Or Continue? - Scan
Be on the look out for opportunities to protect and develop your team and organization.
●Check for new laws and regulations
●Identify the people on your team who are ready for more responsibility and promotion.
- Schedule time
If you don’t schedule it, it’s probably not a true value and won’t happen.

●Regular time to check in with your team for alignment and communication purposes
